The year of the Individual

Let’s start this off with a warm and hearty shout out to those who are seeing in the new year with their original DNA. You know who you are, and they know who you are too, so 2022 promises to be interesting. The way things are going, anything is possible next year, absolutely anything at all. I saw a headline yesterday that a small nuclear war could help to reverse the effects of global warming. We have been conditioned for all of our lives to accept whatever they tell us. And those who have railed against the messaging have been scorned and maligned as crazies and conspiracy theorists.

What has defined the year 2021? Of course, the defining event of the year has been the attempted forced vaccination of many of the world’s individual populations, mostly through coercion, threats, fear, propaganda and the relentless attempts to create division in society so that citizens do the dirty work of the politicians and their handlers.

But when I examine the events of the past year, what stands out for me is that everyone is on his own. This for me has been the year of the individual.

I would lay a wager that everyone who reads this piece has had the experience this year of attempting to convince someone close to them, a family member or a treasured friend, of the evilness behind the push for the vaccines and the awful risks associated with anyone who submits to the peck in their arm. And I would also wager, quite confidently, that all of your arguments were for naught; that they fell on deaf ears. No matter all of the evidence that you brought to the discussion, no matter the many examples of suspicious deaths that could be directly connected to the vaccines, no matter the army of medical staff who are lining up to reveal what they have witnessed, all of these and any other arguments would have been entirely useless. You may as well have been talking to a brick wall.

What did Jesus say, about turning father against son, mother against daughter, brothers against sisters? We all know what He said. Because we are seeing it in action.

There is no unity to be found in our nations because we have been conditioned to be individuals for all of our lives. Any organisations that remotely resemble communities have been hounded out of existence or perverted from within and left as an obscene husk of their former identity and purpose. The family as God intended is more or less dead in the water. The Church is firmly in lockstep with the Globalists and whatever is their mantra for the day. This was the year that luxuriating in the wretchedness of the Novus Ordo wreckage was not enough for our pagan Church masters. No, they had to come after the pitifully small numbers of true Catholics who attempt to worship via the old rites in hidden away congregations. This was done to achieve “unity”, yet another example of peace meaning war.

And there is no unity in collections of individuals. Society is not going to wake up, no matter how fervently we may wish for it to be so. People will put up with a hell of a lot in order to hold on to whatever they have left and there’s still an awful lot of stuff for them to steal. People will hold onto their precious beliefs in the things of this world for as long as they can in the face of all evidence to the contrary. They will go to their graves believing in the science.

But not everyone has remained so comatose while great events surrounded them. This was the year for the great awakening of millions of individuals who understand that they are completely and utterly alone before God. That it is His way that counts. That is the great gift that this year has brought us. The trials and tribulations have either brought us to the faith or strengthened our faith in Him. In God we trust. Not in the things of this world, and certainly not in the utter banality of not being able to go out for a coffee. Has any population in the record of human history surrendered so much just so they could continue to enjoy indoor dining?

I know that I am alone in this world, and I have known it completely and utterly for some years now. Acceptance of such knowledge is a most liberating thing. I act without the anxiety of the burden of a reputation to endure. If I am alone and in great pain then I simply turn to Him. If I am among a multitude and in great pain my reaction is the same.

Would I wish for the world that I knew and grew up in to be returned to me as it once was? To turn back the clock to another time? No, because no matter how far it would be rewound, the ticking clock would begin again its inexorable path to where we are today. We are here at this point because of a great battle against God. So rejoice in being alive at this moment in history and of having still the capacity for free thought and action. Only you can surrender, they cannot force you to accept their grand scheme. Against true Christians they are helpless because in our minds we know where the truth lies. And in such a moment of extremis there is only you and Him.

So go with God into this new year.

Melbourne Man SETS HIMSELF ON FIRE Over Vaccine Mandate

A second Melbourne resident in a month has set themselves on fire in protest against Victoria’s insane vaccine mandate which has forced hundreds of thousands of people out of work:

A man has deliberately lit himself and his car on fire in front of horrified diners while screaming about Victoria’s Covid-19 vaccine mandates.

The man emerged from a silver hatchback which was engulfed in flames near Church St in Richmond  about 8pm on Saturday.

Police officers and firefighters doused the man with water to extinguish the flames.

Around five witnesses restrained the man before officers pinned him to the ground.

The man was then escorted by officers into an ambulance before he was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

One witness who helped restrain the man, told The Herald Sun the man’s flesh was burning before the flames were put out with water.

‘His skin was burning. He was on fire,’ she told the news outlet.

‘His skin is stuck to (my) shirt.

‘He was off his face screaming about the mandates.’

Lydia O’Connor was having dinner at a nearby restaurant when she heard the man screaming.

‘He poured gas on himself and on his car. It was on purpose,’ Ms O’Connor said.

‘He was screaming about mandates. He was screaming: no vax ID and throwing books.’

Extreme incidents became the norm in 2021 as lockdowns and vaccine mandates sent ordinary people over the edge. In December 2021 a woman in Werribee set herself on fire in protest over vaccine mandates. That incident was mostly ignored by the Lying Press, however this latest self immolation appears to have gained too much attention to be ignored.

Northern Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner revealed that he and his family had received death threats, and he had to move his family after threats were made online. Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan received death threats, while Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ electoral office shut down after receiving a suspicious package. He was also forced to make a hasty exit from a Bendigo university, and a man was arrested on the steps of Victorian Parliament carrying some kind of high powered bow.

A Covid marshal was pushed down an escalator in Melbourne’s CBD. There was an escape from the Howard Springs Covid Gulag; a worker at a Covid testing clinic in Collingwood was injured in a hit-and-run car attack, while there was another incident at a testing clinic in Melbourne’s north; and several units at a Covid quarantine hotel in Cairns were set ablaze. A Covid testing clinic in Sydney was also burnt to the ground.

Even in 2020, Daniel Andrews was told that 10 percent of all suicides in Victoria are lockdown-related.

It is likely that as long as the vaccine mandate remains in place the level of violence in Victoria will continue to escalate.

Is The Australian Government Worth Fighting For?

ScotchedEarth asked two questions on the article Politics is not beneath us, the second is in the title above. Many reading this will instinctively say no, our governments have betrayed us, they insult us without end and they pursue policies that are evil. I agree, don’t fight for the government.

But I would like to point out a few things

  1. Australia has interests
  2. The Australian people are reliant upon those interests
  3. The Australian people live here

Not the government, the Australian people, not Australian citizens, the Australian people, those of us of British descent born in Australia. There are around 17,000,000 of us. We are still the majority in our country. The country our ancestors settled and built, the country that they fought for. It still exists, it is all around us and it is worth fighting for.

Whoever is in government, whatever party or system rules we still exist. We should fight for us, for our people, for our future. Don’t confuse the government with the people.

The most important question is the NQ, The National Question.

Do we exist?

Do we have the right to exist?

Do we have the right to rule ourselves?

To which the answer to all of those is YES!

That is not only the case when it comes to immigration, but to foreign governments as well as to any foreign threat. Invasion, threat of invasion, threats or attacks on our interests or upon the Australian people. All of these are legitimate reasons to fight against a foreign enemy.

It has been suggested that anything is better than the governments that we currently live under. I fail to understand that line of thinking. Would a Chinese controlled Australian government want more or less immigration from China? I would suggest more, a lot more.

Would a Taliban inspired Australian government really be better? No radio, music, internet or electricity, if you want that just vote for the Greens!

To quote Fannie Hurst, not Trotsky, ‘You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you’.

Australian National Cabinet Changes Definition of “Close Contact”

Here is more evidence that Covid is bioengineered with artificial intelligence:

National cabinet has agreed on what defines a person as a close contact of a COVID-19 case.

Until now, that definition was different in each state and territory.

Because Covid knew to behave differently depending on where it was. It is very culturally sensitive like that.

Now Prime Minister Scott Morrison says a close contact will be someone who has spent four hours or more with a confirmed case in a household or household-like setting, such as a residential care facility.

Those contacts would only be required to quarantine for seven days, and take a rapid antigen test (RAT) on day six.

In your face Mrs “Do not touch that ball” Lady.

He says the new definition would come into effect from Friday in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and the ACT.

The bioweapon has been engineered to know when the rules change and behave accordingly. And you thought knowing if someone was standing or sitting was smart..

Tasmania will follow on January 1, while the Northern Territory will make announcements about its plans in the coming days.

West Australian Premier Mark McGowan said the state agrees with the changes but that was only relevant for states with thousands of daily cases.

This means Western Australia will continue with its existing close contact and isolation rules for the time being.

That’s okay, because again, the virus knows where it is.

Yesterday, Mr Morrison said: “It is important that we move to a new definition of close contact that enables Australia to keep moving, for people to get on with their lives.”

Most importantly, Covid is intelligent enough to understand that if the government of the “jurisdiction” in which it finds itself defines “close contact” too stringently, given the way that 6 degrees of separation works, it could bring the entire country to a grinding halt with literally everybody needing to self isolate.

In all seriousness, some people have questioned why we need to check in at stores anymore, if a close contact is now defined as having spent 4 hours with a confirmed Covid case. It’s a good point.

However, the government wants to hold on to its power. It wants to keep so-called “casual contacts” on edge and monitoring whether that tickle in the throat is something more serious, while still being able to be good worker drones.

When the government refers to getting the “settings” right, it means it wants to maintain a higher level of micromanagement of people’s everyday lives than what it had pre-2020, while still allowing the economy to stumble on. It sets laws that it knows the majority of people will either follow blindly or enforce on each other without requiring expensive or (too) invasive oversight, while allowing just enough freedom for all its little debt slaves to keep paying off their mortgages.

If the “settings” are too stringent, everything stops. They don’t want that. They want people to think that there is still a way out of this if we all comply.

In recent years, the “true crime” genre has surpassedsports and politics in popularity. A flood of serial killer documentaries and movies have flooded streaming services, mostly focusing on infamous murderers from the 1960s, 70s and 80s like Ted Bundy,  Aileen Wuornos, the Zodiac and Jeffrey Dahmer.

In both fiction and non-fiction, the serial killer is generally portrayed and even assumed by law enforcement to be a white man wracked with psychological eccentricities. As a result, the American public is under the impression that murders for sport are, unlike other types of violent crime, a uniquely white crime.

This impression is false.

According to research conducted by National Justice on serial killer arrests and convictions in 2021, there were at least three black serial killers for every one white offender.

Though the public has a voracious appetite for reading crime stories of this type, the national media routinely downplays or outright refuses to publicize information about black serial killers. Only a few black offenders are given snappy nicknames and, when caught, are rarely turned into household names regardless of how sadistic or prolific they are.

Unlike well-known white serial killers, blacks who murder for pleasure generally have long and violent arrest records, including previous murder convictions. In a number of cases, black serial killers prey on white victims, adding a potential racial dimension that prosecutors and investigators do not generally explore.

Here are some of the year’s offenders identified by National Justice.

1) Perez Reed

Perez Reed, known for his distinctive crescent moon tattoo, is alleged to have murdered at least six complete strangers and severely injured two others this year in separate incidents across Missouri and Kansas.

Reed’s modus operandi was to find a person alone on the street and gun them down with his .40 pistol in what authorities say was a “distinctive pattern.” In another incident, he presented a fake security guard badge to enter an apartment and murder the people inside.

2) Kevin Gavin

Kevin Gavin, who confessed this year for three separate murders between 2015 and 2021 in the same Brownsville apartment complex, has created controversy for the NYPD.

Local police coroners had originally declared Gavin’s victims to have died from natural causes, despite having stab wounds around their necks. When another woman died, they did not make any arrests.

Gavin targeted elderly women inside the public housing building he worked in and operated undetected, usually offering to run errands for them to win their trust but eventually strangling, stabbing and stomping them to death. Residents of the building regularly complainedabout Gavin’s behavior but he was allowed to operate freely by the New York Housing Authority until his arrest.

3) Khalil Wheeler-Weaver

Khalil Wheeler-Weaver was sentenced this year for murdering three women and attempting to murder a fourth.

Wheeler-Weaver targeted prostitutes and women on dating apps, who he raped and killed, then disposed of their bodies.

4) Keith Gibson

Keith Gibson was convicted of manslaughter and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony in 2010, but was quickly released 10 years later in 2020.

Soon after getting out of prison, he went on a murderous rampage across Pennsylvania and Delaware which began after he murdered his mother while under parole supervision.

He went on to kill six people in total and injured multiple others. Gibson’s practice was to kill his robbery victims even after they had turned over their money.

5) Billy Chemirmir

Billy Chermirmir, an illegal alien from Kenya living in Texas, could potentially be the most prolific serial killer in history.

Chermirmir was shockingly granted a mistrial this year as he stands accused of murdering 18 senior citizens over multiple years. A separate lawsuit accuses him of killing six additional people.

The black judge overseeing the case, Raquel Jones, declared a mistrial after only 24 hours of jury deliberations. Chermirmir’s alleged victims were overwhelmingly white.

Investigators have started investigating 750 other suspicious deaths that they believe Chermirmir may have been responsible for.

Prosecutors allege that Chermirmir would dress up as a home health aide to enter the homes of lonely senior citizens, who he would then suffocate.

6) The Daytona Beach Killer

Robert Hayes is currently on trial on Florida for murdering multiple women in the last 15 years, most of them white.

Initially the Daytona Police Department, using FBI pseudo-science, “profiled” the serial killer who was raping and shooting prostitutes as a white man with a girlfriend. They had no evidence to support this assumption.

At the height of Hayes’ attacks, the police even racially profiled random white motorists and swabbed them for DNA samples at checkpoints in their pursuit of the culprit.

DNA and ballistics evidence in 2019 revealed that the killer was Hayes, a black man. It is believed he may have killed up to seven women in total.

7) James Bradley

James Bradley, who this year lost the appeal of his most recent murder conviction, was originally incarcerated in 1988 for choking his 8-year-old step-daughter to death and making it look a kidnapping.

While in prison he authored multiple short stories vividly detailing his fantasies of becoming a serial killer who raped and tortured women. In spite of this, he was still paroled in 2013 after only 25 years of incarceration.

Shortly after being released, Bradley began relationships with white women who were prostitutes and drug addicts. The women soon began disappearing. He was convicted for the homicides and is currently serving life in prison after a jury deadlocked on a capital offense.

8) The Shopping Cart Killer

Anthony Robinson, dubbed “the Shopping Cart Killer,” was given his nickname after being caught on film transporting a dead body for disposal in a Target shopping cart.

Robinson was taken into custody earlier this month for a spate of murders across different counties in Virginia. According to prosecutors, Robinson killed four women he met on dating site “Plenty Of Fish,” usually by meeting them in his motel room, murdering them, then taking their bodies to a dumping ground.

9) Willy Suarez Maceo

Recently, a Florida real estate agent named Willy Suarez Maceo was arrested for the murders of three homeless men and the random shooting of a businessman this year.

Maceo is a highly public lifestyle coach whose social media suggests he lives a life of luxury.

Police have not hesitate to dub Maceo a serial killer, though the story is still developing.

10) Malek Moore 

Malek Moore has been arrested for the murders of two people, including an art teacher named Gabryelle Allnutt, in North Carolina.

Moore was evading parole supervision as he murdered people and was even able to escape law enforcement for days after being connected to the attacks.

Aboriginal terrorists have burnt the entrance to Australia’s Old Parliament House in Canberra for the second week in a row.

Footage of the terrorists clearly shows the terrorists waving aboriginal flags and wearing t-shirts with aboriginal flags on them. Police appeared hesitant to prevent the terrorism by the aboriginal terrorists, in contrast to the severe brutality unleashed upon peaceful Freedom protesters in Victoria this year during the Covid lockdowns.

UPDATE: Claims that the fire was started when an innocent “smoking ceremony” got out of hand when police moved in appear to be contradicted by the following footage:

Marxist agitation has become increasingly violent in the lead up to Australia Day in recent years, terrorism by Marxist terrorists exploiting black identity politics became the norm around the world in 2020, and this year will mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the so-called “aboriginal embassy” on the Parliament House lawn.

The Lying Press has even amplified the message of aboriginal identity politics campaigners who incite terrorism.

Incredibly, the Australian establishment has swung into damage control mode, attempting to blame the terrorist attack on “sovereign citizens” and White Supremacists rather than Marxist aboriginal identity politics activists.

Their piece on the terrorist attack is a little further down. You can be sure if it really was sovereign citizens the story would be pinned to the top. A further hint that this is bollocks is that it is not the lead story on the ABC’s national 7pm television bulletin, particularly as it has been hyperventilating about the January 6 Protest in Washington D.C. all year.

It is one thing for the Lying Press to lie, that is to be expected. The Australian government has seen this gambit and raised, referring to the terrorists as “peaceful protesters”:

Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ben Morton, the Minister responsible for Old Parliament House, has denounced the actions that led to the fire.

He released a statement regarding the fire, saying “criminal damage has no place in our democracy”.

“Our democratic success is based on the principles of freedom, respect, fairness and equality of opportunity,” Mr Morton said.

“No system of government is perfect. In our democracy, the freedom to peacefully protest is one that we can and should celebrate.”

Mr Morton said that, while all Australians had the right to peaceful protest, the actions allegedly taken by protesters would subvert the message that peaceful protesters were trying to send.

“Today’s actions at Old Parliament House were not peaceful,” he said.

“The resulting damage undermines the message that peaceful protesters seek to deliver.”

Note that when anti-vaccine mandate protesters in Melbourne carried a toy gallows outside Victoria’s Parliament House, the Lying Press focused on this almost exclusively to characterise the entire Freedom movement as violent.

It is also worth noting that the Old Australian Parliament House, which housed parliament from 1927 to 1988, now serves as the Museum of Australian Democracy.

This serves to explain the apparent contradiction between the treatment by the police, the government and the media of peaceful Freedom protesters on the one hand and aboriginal terrorists on the other. Anything which upholds Australia’s heritage, particularly its White, British heritage, must be destroyed. Every vestige of our past must be swept away, along with the freedom that is our birthright.

It’s only a matter of time before she doesn’t kill herself:

British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has been convicted of luring teenage girls to be sexually abused by American financier and convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The Lying Press continually refer to Maxwell as a “British socialite” to distract from the fact that like her father before her, she is an Israeli spy. Maxwell and Epstein ran an extortion ring on behalf of Israel. They blackmailed leaders across the world with incriminating footage of them in compromising positions with the young girls they lured into their sinful web.

You can read extensive evidence of the blackmail scheme (which goes back decades under many actors) here, here, and here.

The verdict capped a month-long trial featuring sordid accounts of the sexual exploitation of girls as young as 14, told by four women who described being abused as teens in the 1990s and early 2000s at Epstein’s palatial homes in Florida, New York and New Mexico.

Jurors deliberated for five full days before finding Maxwell guilty on five of six counts.

She was convicted of conspiracy to entice a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, conspiracy to transport a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors and sex trafficking of minors, the last of which carries a statutory maximum of 40 years in prison.

The trial of Ghislaine Maxwell has been carefully choreographed to avoid any mention of the fact that she was an Israeli asset. Maxwell and Epstein created a portal through which ambitious politicians, journalists, entertainers (essentially ticket-takers) would pass in order to access fame, fortune and power.

The deal is, you do sordid acts, you allow yourself to be compromised so the cabal has control over you, and in return they give you whatever earthly pleasure you desire.

It’s so shortsighted a trade, when you consider the definition of “eternity”.

This chick is crazy:

Carlton AFLW star Darcy Vescio has revealed they are non-binary.

Vescio, 28, posted on social media on Wednesday evening explaining their decision to clarify their gender.

“Just popping in to let you know that I am non-binary,” they wrote.

Her and who else?

“Sharing this feels a bit daunting but brings me a lot of warmth and happiness.

“I am most comfortable with they/them pronouns and will always respond to Darcy unless in trouble.”

Vescio was an AFLW All-Australian in 2021, leading the league in goalkicking for the second time after kicking 16 majors in nine matches.

Pfffft… here’s Gary Ablett kicking 14 goals against Richmond in one game.

Anyway:

They follow Gold Coast’s Tori Groves-Little in coming out publicly as non-binary.

The idea of being non-binary comes from the growing understanding that gender identity can be fluid, and does not need to follow the traditional binary of man or woman, based on what the person themselves feels most comfortable as.

“There’s two parts of being non-binary,” Groves-Little told AFL Media last week.

“There’s one where you’re more gender-fluid where you could wake up and feel more feminine or one day you feel more masculine.

“And there’s the second one, which I identify more as, is neither.

“It sucks medically when you’ve got to put male or female, it just doesn’t feel right.

“It’s just gender-neutral, I guess. I don’t like to identify as either.”

The 2021 Australian census included male, female and non-binary gender options, while treating sex separately to refer to which gender a person was assigned at birth.

The AFL updated its gender diversity policy last year allowing trans and/or non-binary players in the AFLW, state leagues and elite pathways providing they meet certain criteria.

This does not make sense. The “W” in AFLW stands for “women”. Surely if a crazy woman tells everybody that she is not a woman, and the AFLW is serious about taking her feelings seriously, they can’t let her play.

There is of course a giant, strapping elephant in the room:

Callum Mouncey has caused all sorts of headaches for the AFLW because he wants to play with the girls but he is really, really big. If he was just a little scrawnier he might just have gotten away with it, but he is just too big for everyone to play make believe. Female footy players are already getting too many horrific breast injuries without an actual bloke shirt-fronting them in the spleen.

What this means is that a man who says he is a woman is not allowed to play footy with women, but a woman who says she is not a woman is still allowed to play with women. Thus for all their virtue signalling towards a fringe, Marxist “gender” theory, the AFLW has asserted the primacy of biological reality.

Don’t expect this to make sense. The trans agenda has nothing to do with tolerance, diversity or logic. It is about breaking down our minds and our will so that we will accept any level of tyranny no matter how absurd its justification.

Modernity is when it is frowned upon to discriminate against degenerates with AIDS but a night on the town with the sniffles could cost you two years of your life:

The teen who was arrested after partying at an Adelaide nightclub while allegedly knowing he had tested positive for COVID-19 has been released on bail.

Ralph MacIntosh was released from custody on Tuesday after a decision to refuse police bail was reversed.

Police arrested the 19-year-old Kensington Park man earlier the same morning and charged him with failing to comply with emergency directions.

Following his night out, the club Ralph visited was declared as a COVID-19 exposure site and 150 staff and partygoers were consequently sent into isolation.

7NEWS understands dozens later tested positive and were forced to isolate over the Christmas period.

Mr MacIntosh is expected to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on January 18.

He faces up to two years behind bars or a $20,000 fine if convicted.

It appears the Lying Press has picked up on XYZ News’ observation that there are actually so many important things we could be paying attention to rather than this two year Covid farce:

This isn’t simply a case of the punishment for breaching quarantine restrictions being out of all proportion to the supposed crime. The crime of breaking Covid restrictions should not exist. Covid restrictions should not exist.

Face masks

Everyone aged 8 and above must wear a mask in all indoor settings in Victoria — unless an exception applies, such as when in a home, when consuming food or drink, or when receiving beauty services.

You must also wear a face mask in the follow settings throughout Victoria:

  • public transport, taxis, rideshare services and tourism vehicles
  • airports and commercial flights
  • events for 30,000 or more, unless you’re seated outdoors
  • visitors at a hospital or care facility
  • after being tested for COVID-19 and waiting for results — excluding surveillance testing
  • leaving a premises in line with quarantine, isolation or testing rules if you have COVID
  • 19 or you’re a close contact
  • international passenger arrivals and international aircrew services workers who are in direct transit to their place of self-quarantine in Victoria and who leave their vehicle, or who are in self-quarantine and leave to undertake allowed essential services

Always carry your mask when leaving home.

The Victorian Government strongly recommends wearing a mask if you can’t physically distance (even if you’re outdoors), have any symptoms, or if you’re with people who may be vulnerable to COVID-19.

Face shields, bandanas and scarves are not sufficient.

These “settings” were updated on Christmas Eve, as the whole country was thrown into chaos because everybody needed to get a Covid test simultaneously so they could move from one point on the map to another. The lowering of the age for the mandatory wearing of face masks was achieved under the cover of the Omicron scare, and in turn is justified under the pretext of the Omicron scare.

There has been no furore in the days since, no outcry from child protection groups. Let’s take a random look at a Lying Press article to get an idea of how this has been covered:

Mr Merlino described new measures the government is taking as “common sense, sensible changes in response to the new variant”.

The returning mask rules also dictate that people have to wear them when moving around major events of more than 30,000 people, but not when they are seated outdoors.

Health Minister Martin Foley said authorities were also recommending to hospitality venues that they stick to seated service where possible, and that dance floors stay in outdoor, well-ventilated areas.

“These changes will help us protect the most vulnerable people in the community while more Victorians go and get their third dose,” Mr Foley said.

Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton a mandate was necessary because a strong recommendation on mask-wearing, which Prime Minister Scott Morrison had called for, would not have the desired impact.

“The difference between highly recommending something and mandating something is the level of compliance that we see,” Professor Sutton said.

“We usually get about 50 per cent levels of cooperation or compliance with a strong recommendation. It goes to 95-99 per cent with a mandate. Why would you introduce a half measure when you need the full measure to be in place?”

Common sense. Sensible. Protecting the vulnerable. Avoiding half measures. At no point does anybody scream “why the hell are you forcing 8 year olds to wear masks? It’s killing them!”
