The press conference in which Daniel Andrews announced that vaccinations would be mandatory for all “authorised workers” in Victoria from October 15 is the gift that keeps on giving. Or perhaps better said, the grinch that keeps on taking.
He freely admits that the Victorian government is going Full Communism:
“There’s no such thing as a private business in this context. This is a state public health order, it’s a CHO direction, so everyone has to follow it..
“It doesn’t matter who you are in Victoria, the Public Health and Wellbeing Act applies to you.”
That’s communism. In Victoria, the state has decreed that businesses are forbidden from employing or serving an entire class of people. This is no different from the oppression of the Soviet Union. Merely replace the mantra of “for the public good” with “for the public’s health” and Bob’s your Commissar.
Just like the Soviet Union, all public dissent is forbidden and brutally crushed.
You are required to carry identification on you at all times, which you must show to State police on demand. Tight travel restrictions are in place, and papers are required in order to travel further.
Private conversations are monitored by the State and regularly result in secret police knocking on your door in the middle of the night.
Gulags are being built nationwide, and they even came up with an Orwellian name – Centres for National Resilience – to disguise their true role. Church services are forbidden and are violently broken up by police.
Just like communism, the government engages in doublespeak to break people’s minds, to cloud their ability to think clearly and oppose bad policy effectively. For example, Andrews stated the following:
“I’m not taking lectures on freedom from people who will hold all of us back.”
Translation:
“I have made a rule restricting the freedom of an entire class of people while blaming them for restricting the freedom of everybody else.”
Example 2:
“There’ll be detailed consultations and I’m not looking to exempt anyone.”
Translation:
“These are not consultations. These are meetings in which we ensure that you comply. If you do not comply, you will be out of business.”
If signals from Europe are any indication, food and energy shortages and rationing are on the way. These were commonplace in the Soviet Union because deliberately Byzantine bureaucracy prevented the efficient production, distribution and use of resources.
Despite the best efforts of social democrats, these systems worked quite well for many years in the West, but the combination of Covid Hysteria and Climate Change Insanity will likely plunge Europe into Soviet-tier shortages this winter.
A hot summer in Australia combined with the determination to reach “net-zero” carbon emissions, ie destroy all coal-fired power plants – could well see rolling blackouts Down Under when everybody turns on the air-conditioner.
Above all, a different set of rules apply for those in the inner party to everyone else. A new aristocracy has risen to rule the peasants.
The recent comparison of Australia with North Korea by Polish politicians is absolutely warranted. They’ve actually done it. Daniel Andrews has achieve Communism in our time.
