Almost without exception, the political class, media class, and other assorted cultural elites have mocked, pilloried and scoffed at US Presidential candidate Donald Trump, writing him off as a bigot and a fraud.
The more they do so, the more his popularity soars.
The man well be a buffoon and a rank opportunist, but the size of his lead in the polls might also indicate that he is giving voice to a large and growing number of ordinary, law abiding citizens, whose voice is routinely dismissed, if not treated with contempt, by the social elites currently holding institutions like politics, academia and the media to ransom.
