Grand Mufti calls for “proper dialogue,” Speaks Arabic

The Grand Mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed has called for “proper communication” and “proper dialogue” among Australians in the wake of the slaying of police employee Curtis Cheng, and raids and arrests of members of the Islamic community across Sydney this week.

The irony of calling for “proper communication”, which he made in Arabic was probably lost on the good mufti. Check out the video clip of the mufti’s statement below:

I look forward to hearing more from the Grand Mufti on how we can make Australia a more inclusive place for Islamic law and culture.

On the basis of supporting our diverse and multicultural nation, I also look forward to Catholic bishops addressing Australians in Latin in the future.
