Pauline Hanson has caused a stir today by suggesting that children with autism should be taught in special schools. One criticism of this proposal has been that this would remove people with autism from mainstream society.
I don’t really have a dog in this fight. I would just note that as a white male, I have grown accustomed in my adult life to the suggestion that I remove myself from positions of power in mainstream society; or that I should be completely removed, forcibly, from society altogether.
