ASIO storms ABC offices: Could it be treason?

12

Well, it turns out that it is not okay to just go ahead and publish classified government documents that some wag said he picked up at an auction of a few old filing cabinets:

“The ABC has returned up to 1500 sensitive cabinet documents, following negotiations between the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and senior staff at the public broadcaster.

“An agreement was reached to return the Cabinet files, which were being held at ABC offices in Canberra, Brisbane and Melbourne.

“The document bundles, which were understood to include classified files related to security agencies, were returned after assurances were made to protect the ABC source.”

We here at The XYZ are shocked, utterly shocked that the Communist broadcaster has been raided by the Australian secret police. No, wait a minute, we are shocked that it didn’t happen 20 years ago.

The ABC has gotten so used to treasonous behaviour, it probably never occurred to them that publishing material that has rules attached to how one deals with the information contained, could be, like, wrong. Hell, we’re surprised their ABC didn’t just take after their hero Hillary Clinton and lose the most important documents.

We fully expect this to open a can of worms regarding the ABC’s un-Australian activities. Expect a series of show trials, followed swiftly by a series of executions by firing squad or hanging, by the end of the year.

It’s your XYZ.
