There was no way the XYZ could look past the comments made today by the Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, spoken in relation to the first anniversary of the Martin Place siege.
Lord Mayor Moore stated:
“It [the Martin Place hostage siege] wasn’t a terrorist event. I didn’t want our multicultural harmonious community to be divided.”
Thank you Ms Moore, we now have it clear. You don’t want your multicultural city to be divided, so we’ll do away with naming things as they actually are, and paper over any problems we might have and pretend they aren’t even there!
We’ll just imagine really, really, hard that things are marvelous, and we’ll be magically lifted over to the other side of the rainbow, where there will be a giant pot of gold, and everyone will be happy, and no one will be poor or sad ever again. Isn’t that wonderful?
