When the New York Times accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment, Hollywood’s glitterati quickly jumped on the bandwagon to launch their latest crusade. From Angelina Jolie to Rose McGowan, Cara Delevingne, Oprah Winfrey and Ashley Judd, Hollywood’s elite queued at this year’s Golden Globes in their black couturier, self-righteously gloating over their #MeToo and #TimesUp campaign to denounce the dark history of predation and exploitation that Hollywood had buried for so long. In all this, Hollywood’s feminists remained the media’s heroes, with their virtue signaling and perpetual victimhood. But unfortunately, no true heroes have emerged from this scandal. Most of Hollywood’s celebrity ‘victims’ knew full well of the casting-couch, where wannabe performers willingly sold themselves to a system that they later used to their own advantage – to a system where women prostituted themselves for fame and fortune. But they stayed silent.
An Open Secret
Of course, rape and sexual assault is morally deplorable. Any form of force, violence and coercion is abhorrent. However, these dazzling actresses waltzing around the Oscars in their embellished ‘naked dresses’ – most of whom were gladly passed from man to man and playwright to playwright like a parcel – were as much to blame for the problem as men. Sir Ian McKellen, the English actor who starred as Gandalf in Lord of the Rings, delivered a talk at Oxford Union, where he shared his own experiences from the early ‘60s:
“The director of the theatre I was working at showed me some photographs he got from women who were wanting jobs… some of them had at the bottom of their photograph ‘DRR’ — directors’ rights respected. In other words, if you give me a job, you can have sex with me.”
The casting-couch was Hollywood’s open secret, unspoken and lingering like some generational curse. Marilyn Monroe once described the pressing reality:
“I met them all. Some were vicious and crooked. But … you saw Hollywood with their eyes — an overcrowded brothel, a merry-go-round with beds for horses.”
Most rising stars knew what they were getting themselves into.
But these dark secrets stayed buried in the deepest recesses of Hollywood for many years. As Miranda Devine wrote in the Daily Telegraph:
“If you bow to the altar of the globalist left’s grab-bag of causes — LGBTIQ, racism, feminism, open borders, abortion, feminism, climate change, the Clintons, pro-Islam and anti-Christian, you buy yourself personal protection.”
Weinstein – from his generous donations for Planned Parenthood to family holidays with the Clintons and involvement at the women’s march against Trump, was highly ranked in the cult of leftism. Perhaps therefore Hollywood and the media have turned a blind eye to his perverted history of sexual harassment over the past three decades to protect their own. For example, Weinstein’s sexual misconduct would have been exposed in 2004 by New York Times reporter, Sharon Waxman, but she was hushed by the culture editor at the time.
But Waxman was not the only one silenced for speaking the truth. Former child star, Corey Feldman, has been continuously shut down by Hollywood on his mission to expose the pedophilia and sinister history of child molestation that plagues the film industry. Allegations started with Kevin Spacey being accused of sexually harassing Anthony Rapp when the Star Trek: Discovery actor was fourteen. But why was there no mention of Hollywood’s history of child-sex abuse at the Golden Globes? Perhaps the stars are ashamed of the fact that a certain number of gays are linked with pedophilia, and have thus kept this secret hermetically sealed.
As man-hating feminists are finger-pointing and name-shaming, and Hollywood’s open secrets are being laid bare, a noxious climate of antagonism has been created between the sexes that is spreading like wildfire. One by one, the predatory directors and stars who hushed up the abuse for so long are exposing themselves and falling like a house of cards. We are witnessing the Left’s self-destructive behavior. With the truth now rousing old grievances and opening forgotten wounds, the groundworks that have held Hollywood together for so long might eventually come crashing down. The industry will collapse in on itself.
Selective Outrage
Compare the media’s treatment of Hollywood’s longstanding silence on the proliferation of sex abuse cases, to its superfluous exposure of sex abuse cover-ups in the Catholic Church. Without justifying the crimes committed by clergy, there is a blatant over-representation of allegations against Catholic priests due to anti-Catholic schadenfreude. In Australia, one need only look at the media’s fabricated and false representations of Cardinal George Pell during the Royal Commission as someone who covered up clergy abuse. Or even Pell’s subsequent character assassination and trial by media. The mainstream media, which has long been baying for Pell’s blood, is simply a tool used by the regressive Left to annihilate and abolish anyone who undermines their degenerate modern trends and culture of groundless populism.
If the media truly cared about the victims of sex abuse, it would put an end to its selective outrage. If we are to prevent sex abuse in all its forms, we must treat molesting clerics and filmmakers and those who conceal these crimes with the same severity. Drawing on Hollywood’s dark history, it is only fitting that we Australians ask, where is the Royal Commission into sex abuse in the entertainment industry? Where is the Royal Commission into the Australian government’s response to the atrocious sex abuse and trauma faced by women and children in Australia’s detention camp at Nauru, with over 2,000 leaked reports of severe beatings, genital mutilation and sexual assaults? Where is the public outcry over the sex abuse and exploitation by United Nations peacekeepers, with an Associated Press investigation revealing over 2,000 allegations in the 12 years before 2017?
Why hasn’t information from the Commission been published on sex abuses against children within Islam? Peter Kelso, the lawyer who represented many victims appearing as witnesses at the Royal Commission, said:
“We know there are underage Muslim girls being pressured into things they don’t want to do. I’m happy to suggest the Royal Commission is deliberately avoiding any investigation into Islamic institutions…I suggest there is a culture of fear in that community.”
Where is the justice for the young Muslim child-brides from Australia’s Islamic community, with the Australian Federal Police investigating 69 cases of forced marriages in 2016? If matters could not get any worse, cases of genital mutilation from the Islamic community are slowly creeping in on Australian courts. For instance, in March 2016, three Australians received 15-month sentence for their involvement in the female genital mutilation of two Muslim sisters aged seven years old: the girls’ mother, the older woman who performed the operation, and a Muslim cleric from Dawoodi Bohra Mosque, Auburn, who endorsed and covered it up. It seems that the Leftist run media have also given Muslims a free pass for any act of barbarism committed.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend
Why does the regressive Left find itself in some sort of unholy alliance with Islam? The answer lies in their common goal: destroying Western civilisation and obliterating Christianity.
Be it the 1,000 Pakistani women who die in ‘honour killings’ annually, or the Sydney gang rapes that were led by fourteen Muslims against Anglo-Celtic Australian women in 2000, the 21 Coptic Christians beheaded by ISIS in 2017, ISIS throwing gays off buildings or the fact that electorates with many Muslims had the biggest No vote in Australia’s same-sex postal ballot – I am sure that we can all agree that Islam is the antithesis of the Left.
Yet, the Left are silent when it comes to challenging Islam, and instead, use stand-over tactics to shame, bully and punish Christians bakers for simply refusing to bake gay wedding cakes.
But they are not the only ones who remain silent. Most Muslims are silent when it comes to voicing their opposition to progressivism. Although many Muslims voted No, where were their voices during the same sex marriage debate? Ali Kadri, spokesman for the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils explained on ABC’s The Drum why many Muslims were silent in the postal survey:
“Unfortunately, in the current climate, the right and conservative side has attacked Muslims as terrorists and extremists, and naturally the left side has been allies in defending us”… We are afraid if we come out with our opinion then the left may abandon us for going against their view.”
Like the rainbow militants, the Islamic community are beginning to show their true colours.
The Forgotten Women
The mass scale hypocrisy of the Left is out for all to see. To stars like Oprah Winfrey, who were once close with Weinstein, and now stand lecturing us in morality from the podium of the Oscars – I urge you to put an end to your virtue-signaling spectacle. Take a step away from the spotlight and cease posturing. You have championed the destruction of many women.
Let’s start with the 400,000 unborn female babies aborted each year in America, butchered, crushed and torn apart in their mother’s wombs. With Planned Parenthood celebrating the #MeToo and #TimesUp campaign and celebrities advocating for Planned Parenthood, what about the aborted female babies who had their body parts chopped up, harvested and sold? Why haven’t Hollywood stars condemned Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger? – a racist woman who sterilized unknowing black women with a vision to wipe-out African-Americans.
Oprah, I hope you haven’t forgotten the suffering of thousands of young girls who feel pressured by the socially constructed ideas of beauty that have emerged from Hollywood. With over 91% of women dissatisfied with their bodies, what do Hollywood stars have to say to the thousands of teens who have turned to starvation, self-hatred and even suicide because they will never reach Hollywood’s unrealistic beauty standards?
The Left’s doublespeak
From people worshiping Hollywood’s celebrities like heroes despite the dark history of abuse and cover-ups, to the media’s blatant irrationality and bias, the Left is fully immersed in doublespeak. Orwellian horrors are brought to life with the Left hijacking everything and the mass-media indoctrinating civilians to the point where people cannot even put two and two together to notice the complete absurdity and hypocrisy around them. One need only consider Dakota Johnson from 50 Shades of Grey who appeared on the National Public Radio to preach about the sexual exploitation of women in Hollywood, despite making millions in a movie that endorsed a billionaire man sexually abusing a vulnerable woman. Why didn’t feminists protest this movie – with its glorified portrayal of the exploitation, objectification and subjugation of women for sexual pleasure?
The Left is using the mainstream media to breed robotic-like journalists and followers – common sense and reason went out the door the moment we gave them power.
