At least 36 have been confirmed dead and 147 unconfirmed injured in a terrorist attack on Turkey’s main international airport in Istanbul.
The attackers have been identified as three suicide bomber/gunman, most likely affiliated with the Islamic State.
While each new attack is shocking, they only reconfirm the new normal of Islamist violence which is being waged upon the rest of the world. While President Barack Obama quibbles over naming Islamic terrorism for what it is, the carnage continues.
As Ambassador John Bolton states in the clip below, “Unless we recognise the ideology, although it may have different manifestations, we’re never going to combat it effectively. ”
As Australia, the United States and several nations European nations gear up for elections, we need leaders who are willing to name the enemy for what is it, and to face our own weaknesses, otherwise we will never combat Islamism effectively.
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.” – Sun Tzu
