The XYZ Quote of the Day goes to former Prime Minister of Australia, Tony Abbott, for his stirring address at the 2nd annual Margaret Thatcher Lecture yesterday.
Abbott clearly and eloquently laid out the moral case for a strong border protection policy – turning back boats carying illegal migrants, and refusing entry to people who attempt to enter illegally. Without such a policy, a nation or a continent will be weakened, its culture and identity endangered, and more suffering is caused in the process.
It is a poicy which has worked in Australia, twice, and it is a policy which can work in Europe, if its leaders have the political will.
It is a policy which The XYZ has advocated repeatedly.
If you have not already, watching Abbott’s speech makes for a good 22 minutes.
