14073509860_b9296400da_Tony-AbbottIn September last year, after the sacking of Tony Abbott as Prime Minister by the Liberal Party, and his replacement as Prime Minister with Malcolm Turnbull, The XYZ conducted a survey to determine how it would affect the voting patterns of Australians.  With 1052 responses, it was determined that the votes won from voters who would not have voted for the Liberal Party with Abbott at the helm (23), were outweighed by those who would change their vote due to the sacking of Abbott (575).

A comparatively small number of people (53) said they would vote first for a conservative or Liberal-leaning party, but preference the Liberal Party over Labor or the Greens.  This may be the most interesting question, and the most likely to change, as the range of minor party options on the right has become more clear.  It will also be interesting to discover whether people intend to do the former, or to vote for conservative/Liberal-leaning party, while preferencing the Liberal Party last.

For this reason, one question in the previous poll has had its wording altered, from “I will never vote Liberal with that socialist Turnbull as Prime Minister,” to “I will vote for a conservative/Liberal-leaning party which more closely resembles my values, and preference the Liberal Party last to punish them for disloyalty.”

The XYZ is keen to learn how attitudes have either changed, or hardened, in the months since Abbott’s sacking, and people’s opinion of how Turnbull has performed.  Let us know what you think in the comments section, and give your answer to The XYZ Viewer Poll, and let your voice be heard.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
