Thought for the Day: Melbourne has a Flannery

122406298_9a72d51553_Rain-melbourneRemember when Tim Flannery said it would never rain again?  Remember when he said the rain which would fall wouldn’t be enough to fill the rivers or the dams?  We can thank him for Melbourne’s idle water desalination plant.  And the pipeline built to steal water from the already struggling Murray, for Melbourne again.  (And that’s just for Victoria).

Well, yesterday, Melbourne had a Flannery.

What’s that you ask?  A Flannery is a day when it more or less rains all day.  The sort of day when even the socialists at the Age report that a crane slid off an embankment because it was so wet.

That’s right.  Melbourne had a Flannery.  And I am pretty sure Melbourne will have a lot more Flanneries to come.
