In the time-honoured tradition of politicians, Malcolm Turnbull is doing rapid about-turns, and trying to back opposite points of view.
First, in a bid to gain the trust of the Islamic community (presumably an attempt to prevent Australia getting a repeat of Orlando), he hosts an iftar – the traditional Muslim end of Ramadan meal.
Then he promptly afterwards condemns one of his guests for purely Islamic anti-homosexuality.
You know, Prime Minister, I think Aesop had something to say about this.
Trying to please everyone only causes more problems.
