There has been a lot of talk about Scott Adam’s unfortunate cancer diagnosis, which he has declared is well past the advanced stage and that he hasn’t got much time.
Scott Adams says he has the same cancer that Joe Biden has, says he expects to be “checking out” this summer.
Devastating. We are all praying for you @ScottAdamsSays!pic.twitter.com/LP3MJbZpoZ

Most of the responses to his announcement have been advice on how he can cure himself, for example in this post. There have been calls for prayer for Adams, as well as thoughtful appraisals of his life as a cartoonist.
What I have not seen is anyone expressing concern over his intention to voluntarily end his own life under the Californian assisted suicide law. Suicide is not just a grave mortal sin, it is one of the gravest, if not the very worst sin possible. It is an explicit rejection of God’s gift of life. Our lives are in His hands to decide when they will end. We know not the hour or the day, only our Creator has that discretion.
Suicide thus is an attempt to rob God of that decision. Any suffering that God sends to us is a divine opportunity to grow or learn in some way. How we accept such suffering is up to us. A long illness is a gift of grace in that it provides the sufferer the time to turn to God, to accept Him. Remember what Jesus said to those he had just cured of illness; Go, and sin no more, the implicit meaning that it was their sin that had caused their illness and suffering.
So pray for Scott Adams, not that he is cured of this illness, but rather that he grasps the opportunity to save his mortal soul, and that he abandons any idea of submitting to the diabolic assisted suicide so thoughtfully provided by our diabolical governments.
