Progressive criminal strikes ideological fool’s gold

imageIn the latest race to the bottom, a certain candidate for Australian of the Year (courtesy of Q&A) has spoken to the media about his likely law suit against the media for discussing comments he made on prime time National TV*.

As it turns out, this man seeks to be free from judgement. He also is in training to help people who suffer from mental health issues. He suffers from mental health issues. The media should have known that he suffers from mental health issues. The media should then not have abbrogated their duty of care to shield this man from judgement on his nationally televised comments.

In the last week this man has probably made some progressive friends. At the very least, his logic is perversely beautiful. Simply put, it continues a race to the bottom based on victimhood and therefore oppression. It is a progressive-socialist reverse meritocracy.

In this application of said meritocracy, this man is essentially saying: Do not judge me. Because I am mentally ill. This sets a dubious precedent. I am sure he now regrets that when he was in front of a judge he did not pull out this defense. Perhaps a human rights lawyer can have the previous verdict repealed.

Naturally, mentally ill will soon become the new “black” when it comes to victim poker.

Heck, maybe when a religion of peacer on live tv (Q&A is a natural platform) begins stabbing a conservative to death, what a cathartic moment it would be for the knife wielding fella to turn to the camera, display his “mentally ill” card, and carry on to delighted applause.

*Note – this is a program and broadcaster notorious for its own repeated failings which the XYZ can confirm has been diagnosed as institutional mental illness.
